Find the Right Grooming Price by Coat Type
Weight helps determine appointment size. Coat type tells us what kind of work actually needs to happen.
Choose the coat that looks most like your dog’s. Each page shows its own services, weight ranges and current starting prices.
A Starting Price Should Tell You What You're Paying For
Two dogs can weigh the same and still need very different work. A useful price list shows which service fits your dog, what the starting price covers, and what can change the total.
Weight matters, but it cannot tell you the price by itself.
A curly coat that needs a complete haircut, a dense double coat that needs hours of drying and undercoat work, and a short coat that mainly needs a bath can all belong to dogs in the same weight range.
That is why Rebel Tails starts with coat type, then looks at size, service and coat condition.

Light brushing, packed undercoat, localized tangles and extensive matting can require very different amounts of grooming time.
A practical shorter groom and a longer scissor-heavy finish are not the same appointment, even on the same dog.
Dense or shedding coats can require significantly more drying, brushing and undercoat removal than a routine bath.
Some appointments need more coat work or handling time than the standard service slot allows.
Two price quotes are not especially useful to compare when one is for a bath and the other includes a full haircut.

A dog can fall into the correct weight and coat category and still require more work than the standard appointment if the coat is tightly tangled.
Light tangles, localized mats and extensive matting are not the same grooming job. Coat condition needs to be assessed before anyone can reliably say how much length can stay or how much additional time may be required.
If you already know the coat is matted, tell us when booking. You can also read about our professional de-matting and coat assessment .
“How much to groom my dog?” is a surprisingly difficult question when we know nothing about the dog yet.
Four details make the conversation much more useful:
Coat density, tangles and other details can look different once the dog is examined in person. The final service and price should reflect the actual work required at the appointment.
Cat grooming has its own service structure and should not be priced from the dog coat categories above.

Dogs of the same weight can need very different amounts of bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, scissoring or undercoat work. Coat type and selected service therefore matter alongside size.
A starting price represents the base price for the selected coat category, size and service when the appointment fits the standard scope. Additional coat work, matting, detailed styling or extra time can change the final total.
Matting can require additional grooming time beyond the normal service. The amount depends on how tight and widespread the mats are and what grooming approach is appropriate for the coat.
Yes. A full grooming appointment is not required when nail care is the only service your dog needs.
