We could lower costs by taking more dogs, using cheaper products, cutting staff,
or spending less time on each dog.
But going backwards on the standard of care we’ve already built isn’t an option.
That’s what the additional money allows us to protect.
- We created a calmer environment for the dogs. We can see the difference every day — dogs are more relaxed on the grooming table and noticeably happier when they reunite with their owners in the lobby.
- We improved our bathing and prep process. Instead of relying on one universal shampoo, we now use a multi-step process with different shampoos and conditioner based on the dog’s coat and needs.
- We upgraded the products we use. Chris Christensen is now one of our core product lines — a premium American brand we chose because of the quality of the products, not because of the name on the bottle.
- We strengthened our team. Better people, better training, and more consistency directly affect the quality of every groom.
- We intentionally limit how many dogs we take. That allows us to give each dog the time, attention, and patience they deserve instead of turning the salon into a conveyor belt.
